This week’s playlist takes its title from “Kitchen, Barber, Beauty Shop”, a standout track from Roy Kinsey’s new album Kinsey: A Memoir.

Lots of my faves were busy during the hiatus. Auden released their debut full-length Element, represented here by the epic and melancholy “Hard to Love”. Lez Pop dropped her EP The Girls, and Zebra Katz released his long-awaited Less Is Moor project.

Ariel Zetina built on the strength of last year’s EP with her latest MUAs At the End of the World. Apparently, Bbymutha never sleeps because she found the time to drop Muthaleficent, another excellent EP. And GodIsMikey delivered Cult Classic, the follow-up to his 2018 debut.

Lastly, you maybe noticed that I cut the playlist length from 30 tracks to 20. This is mostly to ease up on my personal workload as I get the blog back up and running. As a nice side-effect, it also forces me to be more selective. - Stevie
