“Hot Right Now”, the massive new single from Chicago performing artist and DJ Don Crescendo, is unmistakably about sex. But in a welcome change from current pop trends, he doesn’t leave it all on the table, employing suggestion and sensuality in his lyrics. When he sings “I want satisfaction/I want the delay”, he knows leaving some things to the imagination can be hotter than any explicit reality.

His vocal performance, too, draws us into the atmosphere of the song. His coy, almost whispered falsetto over the pounding, mechanical beat in the most effective parts of the song suggests a new lover playing it cool while their heart starts to race and blood starts to pump, just under the surface.

“Hot Right Now” is Don Crescendo’s first release in 2022 and is the lead single from his upcoming EP.
