"Saccharine" by Luke Martinez

SELF RELEASED | 2019

Over a simple guitar line, Luke Martinez makes a case for tearing away the layers of irony and metaphor that often surrounds otherwise strong pop music. “Saccharine” is the titular track from the EP Martinez wrote and produced as part of their senior thesis, a manifesto on the power of true sentimentality in pop. The message wouldn’t hit if the song itself wasn’t so strong. Martinez’s vocals carry the track, floating on top of a delicate melody like flower petals on a stream.
