On this chilled out dance track, Kitty both satirizes and rejects the idea that a woman has to fill a ‘mother’ role in a romantic relationship with an immature or needy man. The hook: “Mami got things to do, so she don’t have the time to listen to you whine.”

“Mami” is a standout track from Kitty’s second album Rose Gold, released earlier this month. The album follows the self-titled EP from The Pom-Poms, the electro-pop group formed last year by Kitty and her husband Sam Ray.
