The new single from Mal Blum, partially written about being closeted, is angsty but brimming with determination and possibility. The hook: “There are things still left to say/ I’ve got phrases, I’ve got phrases” almost seems like someone psyching themselves up to come out.

“Things Still Left to Stay” is the first release from Mal Blum since their 2015 album You Look A Lot Like Me.
